Where it started
Software for buildings as they are.
Ratelsoft began in Nigeria, writing exam and school software for halls where the power goes out and the internet is a sometimes thing. That work is still going at ratelsoft.com.
Building for a hard environment teaches you to be plain about what software does. In Canada we took the exam engine online as examina.io, and we turned the same instincts to a different job that can't afford a dropped call: the local taxi company's dispatch desk, with Cabpin.
The three things below are not a values poster. They are the decisions we make every time a feature is designed.
-
Trust and transparency
Our software holds exam results and passengers' trips — somebody's certification, somebody's ride home. We say what a product does and does not do, and we list what is still on the way rather than selling it early.
-
Your name first
A training provider's exam carries the provider's logo. A taxi company's booking page carries the taxi company's name. We would rather build your reputation than borrow it.
-
The data is yours
Results and trip records export in formats other software can read. We don't sell personal information or use it for advertising, and we would rather earn the renewal than trap it.
